Terms and conditions for booking our tango holidays
Please read these booking (as well as the resp. tango holiday info) conditions carefully as they are the sole terms and conditions of the contract between you and the organizer/host for all bookings.
These terms and conditions apply equally to the residents booking a tango holiday residing in Europe as well as USA, Canada, Australia, Asia, Emirates, South Africa and other worldwide resident bookings. Your contract will be governed by Dutch law and any disputes will be dealt with in the courts of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. You may only use the website and our terms and conditions for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms and conditions.
The here mentioned tango (and body work) holidays are organized for up to 10 couples of our own students participating in it to intensively deepen social tango skills in a relaxed local setting. We are not a travel agent and not interested in touristic endeavors but target deepening the skills of the own pupils in a holiday setting. The tango holiday is a closed group of students related to the tango school www.tangodesalon.eu
Booking the tango holiday
The person making the booking shall be deemed to have accepted the booking conditions on behalf of all the persons named in the booking. A booking legally becomes a booking when phrasing to want to participate and confirmed by email by the host confirming that is booked and in consequence the organizer/host awaiting the (international) payments to be received. Also when participants ask to book extra days before the tango holiday, it is considered an agreement to participate in the tango holiday tango holidays, including of course the desired period before and after the tango holidays. Participant(s) in that moment delegate the right and obligation to conclude payment to the host/organizer to book in the participant’s name in the respective hotel/B&B mentioned on the before communicated website(s) and/or the bulk mailing to whom might be interested.
The same applies for extra services or extra nights booked before and after the tango holiday, as well as during the tango holiday, in the name of the participant(s). No variation to these terms and conditions afterwards shall be of any effect unless agreed to by writing by and with the authority of the organizer/host. The organizer/host reserves the right to alter their general booking terms and conditions at any time.
The organizer/host, being a dance/tango school/instructor, reserves the hotel/B&B only for the attendants of the tango holiday. The organizer is not a travel agent booking hotels for persons who will not attend the tango holiday. There are countless websites to book hotels/B&B.
The commencement of your tango holiday is the first day to arrive, meaning extra days booked before the tango holiday, will change the tango holiday’s commencement to the respective day. Booking extra days is a service to the participants of our holiday to prevent them from needing to move hotel during their tango holiday. We do not ask extra charges for this service.
EXTRA DAYS DEFINITIONS: - Definition of extra days is, the days additional to the tango holiday package either before or after the tango holiday period published for that certain year.
- Extra days in double rooms or apartments outside the organized tango holiday described on this website (that means before or after the holiday package) in Le Querciole or otherwise Villa Borri can be booked by and are payable at www.booking.com or bookable through us to get a better price/night (90-100 Euros in 2016) to guarantee you do not need to move and can stay in the same room/apartment. Only therefore we offer this service to participants of the holiday. All down payments first therefore will be credited to the package of the tango holiday and secondly accredited to the extra nights of course, as we are not a hotel booking service but book the hotel/room/apartment for our participants only.
- Of course they do not include the package deal during our tango holiday with half board, services, lessons, entrances of the tango holiday.
Host’s conditions
A host might be a hotel or B&B used to realize the tango holiday. Any service like the rent of the apartments or double rooms as well as half board and extra services fall under the host’s conditions. Participant and organizer/host are bound by the hosts own booking, amendment, cancellation conditions and conditions of carriage where relevant and these conditions apply to your contract with the host. The host’s conditions may limit or exclude their liability to you. The organizer guarantees to seek solutions for special wishes by it’s participants in relation to the host.
Prices and payment
All prices are published by the email bulk mailing list (made to own tango students, to who wanted to be on the mailing list and in general) and on the websites, participants are obliged to read them carefully and will accept them through the booking and payment. All prices are per person/participant.
Details concerning the room type: There are 2 prices, the lower one is for double rooms/half board and the higher price for private apartments or single occupancy of a double room or part of an apartment plus the half board. At any time those prices are per person/participant. Prices comprise the group lessons as well all extra touristic activities named on the website. All that is included or excluded in the price is stated on the website or Facebook and mailed to the participant(s) before a contractual agreement has taken place. The offered tango holidays of a tango holiday can vary each year.
Payments are in Euros and will be charged in that currency. Payment will take place into the bank account named on the invoice to the choice of the organizer. No cheques are accepted as therefore a special account would have to be opened by the organizer and for overseas’ payments it never has been needed in 10 years of tango holidays. (According to reviews the probability sending cheques holds a big risk of loss for the receiving party.) Any international transfer costs are due by the participant.
Exchange rates can vary from one day to the other. Therefore the amount paid by a participant is the amount factually received by the organizer/host, any shortcomings due to exchange rates or bank/transfer fees are regarded outstanding payments and are due for payment to the organizer/host. The organizer/host will help proof the received amount with copies and will communicate the received (down) payment asap and max. in a week’s time after reception of the (down) payment. The organizer/host has the right to charge for delays in payment.
Down payment
Until 3 months before the tango holiday’s first day or the participant’s early arrival day there has to be a down payment of a 35% deposit for the holiday tango holidays. If the reservation takes place shorter then 3 months before the tango holiday’s first day or the participant’s early arrival day the whole amount of the invoice is due immediately. The total balance should be paid within 2 weeks after the date of invoice. An invoice is regarded paid if the total has been transferred into the organizer’s bank account named on the invoice, not including but excluding fees, costs or exchange variations at the participant’s expenses.
Any payment made first (even mentioning another reason for payment or other dates) will always first be accredited to the reason for your booking, that is the the tango holiday, as ewe are a tango school and not a hotel booking agent. Extra services or extra days are a second agreement, that will be invoiced separately. We offer assistance in those extra services before and after the tango holiday package merely only as a service to our tango holiday participatns. Payments taking place will be substracted from the first invoice for your tango holiday participation. Shortcomings lead to withholding the extra services not covered yet until the entire payment is transferred (see also costs for transfer of moneys are resting at the tango holiday participant).
Travel insurance
Participants declare by taking part in a tango holiday to be fit enough and not have any conditions that would make participation a risk to their own health.
It is strongly recommend that a comprehensive travel insurance policy is purchased. We consider it a condition to our contract with the participants to have suitable and sufficient travel insurance to cover your holiday’s unforeseen moments as no organizer/host can ever be held responsible for any liability, expenses or losses incurring to you as a result of being inadequately insured or taking a risk concerning your health or condition.
Please note that for holidays that involve any physical activity whatsoever (e.g. sports, fitness and our tango dance holidays), the host may insist that you provide them with a copy of an adequate insurance policy to cover the activities involved in the holiday before you partake in any of those activities. Without adequate insurance, the host reserves the right to cancel your holiday without compensation or refund or declare not to be responsible for any damages occurred and not covered.
Meanwhile the organizer/host of the tango holiday as well as the owner of the hotel/B&B have been very involved (also formerly) if unforeseen situations will come into a participant’s life.
Passports, visas and health requirements
It is the responsibility of all passengers, regardless of the passport they hold, to check with the appropriate consulates to determine if any visas are required. As at the borders visa and health requirements are subject to change without notice, it is recommended that verification prior to travel be made of existing foreign visa and health requirements.
The organizer/hosts will have no liability concerning any passenger travelling without the correct passport or visa or health requirement and you will have to pay to the host any costs they incur through assisting you. Should you not have the correct visa in order to commence your holiday, you will have to pay to the host the full cost of the holiday and no refunds will be given.
Circumstances beyond the host’s control
No compensation of any kind or responsibility can be taken if due to a circumstance beyond the host’s control, they have to change your holiday after departure, or the host cannot supply your holiday in full or in part as agreed, or you suffer any loss or damage of any description. A circumstance beyond a host’s control is one that cannot be foreseen or avoided, even after taking all due care and includes but is not limited to war, terrorist activity, civil unrest, health dangers in that area, industrial desasters and bad weather situations or forecasts.
A travel insurance can maybe cover some of the economic damage caused by these circumstances.
Your responsibility
Please note that the booking participant is responsible for the actions as well of his own as those of his company travelling with him. If the organizer/hosts believes your actions or those of your party could cause danger, upset or annoyance to other customers, guests or staff, the host may end your booked arrangements immediately. In this event, the host will not pay compensation, make refunds nor pay any expenses you suffer as a result. You will get a chance to explain your actions to the group of participants, in cases that are not severe, asking for their forgiving or understanding, probably leading up to welcoming you in the group again.
Price changes
All hosts reserve the right to change or amend prices at any time before you have booked. After you have booked, the price of your booking is guaranteed and the host will not apply any surcharges or price changes except you book extra services in addition to the booking.
Changes after booking but before travel
No changes are allowed after the booking without the explicit written consent of the organizer/host.
Changes after travel
No refunds are available once a holiday has commenced, or in respect of any other holiday or trips or services booked or utilized.
Cancellation or no show by you
Charges are levied to cover the costs of any losses incurred as a result of your cancellation or no show which applies to a situation where you chose not to take your holiday but omit to advise the host of the fact in advance of the commencement day of your holiday. Cancellation charges can vary. The cancellation policy and charges will be highlighted in the terms against each holiday or trip prior to booking and these charges will also be displayed clearly on your confirmation voucher and in no circumstances will any refunds be available. By agreeing to these terms and conditions, you agree to pay all charges associated with cancellation or a no show, which in the case of a no show is 100% of the total booking value.
Special requests
Please let us know your needs during the booking process if you wish to make any special requests. We will try to help but please note such requests cannot be guaranteed. We though will take the utmost care to make you feel welcome and at home with your needs. We check facts about the holidays and trips offered to ensure accuracy. Should there be a significant change to a booking, we will make every effort to notify you in advance of the start of your holiday or trip. Please note all activity duration times given are approximate and itineraries are given for a guide only and are subject to minor changes depending on the needs of the group, weather conditions and other circumstances.
Changes made by the host before travel
All hosts reserve the right to cancel, change or substitute any service and to decline to accept or retain any holiday or trip members at any time for any reason including, without limitation such cause is an insufficient number of participants. If you have cause for complaint whilst on your holiday, this must be immediately brought to the attention of the relevant host so that action can be taken to remedy the problem. Failure to report your complaint in this way may jeopardize any claim you subsequently make afterwards.
Your privacy
Your contact details will not be sold, leased or made available to any other party other than the organizer. We will ask to share your details with other participants during one of the dinners, and will not share your details except where you have explicitly consented for us to do so.
