Claudette_Y_5_fotos.jpgYvonne Meissner begint met Argentijnse Tango in 1987: Eerst in de stijl Tango Fantasía (Vanina Bilous & Alejandro Aquino, Gustavo Naveira), en na enkele jaren met Tango de Salón apilado (Pepito Avellaneda, Tete Rusconi & Maria Villalobos, Cacho Dante & Susana Miller), wat v.a. 1990 ook Milonguero-Stijl wordt genoemd, daarnaast bestudeert Yvonne de oude Canyengue Orillero (Rodolfo & Maria Cieri, Pocho Pizarro). Yvonne is opgeleid in Contact Improvisation, moderne dans-technieken en heeft diploma's in lichaamsgerichte technieken behaald, waaronder Focusing en Somatic Experiencing® Trauma Institute in 2007. 2013 hoopt zij de opleiding in Alexander-Technique af te ronden. V.a. 1994 is zij een van de eerste leraren in Europa die deze technieken met een tangodidaktiek verbindt. Het gevolg waren talloze uitnodigingen door heel Europa v.a. 1996, om deze verrassende mix in tango-didaktiek toe te passen, waarmee bewegingen sneller physiek geïntegreerd worden.

V.a. 1994 starte Yvonne de tango op in de steden Haarlem en ‘s-Hertogenbosch. In hetzelfde jaar bracht zij de eerste "no-name" milongueros uit Argentinië naar Europa waarmee zij de eerste organisatie was van o.m. Susana Miller en Cacho Dante buiten Argentinië. Zij maakten hun eerste stappen buiten Argentinië in haar Amsterdamse school in ”El Centro”, waar reeds 1994 tandas met cortinas werden gedraaid. Een mijlsteen in de Europeese tangogeschiedenis voor tango in de "close embrace" Tango de Salón Apilado zoals de stijl in Argentinië genoemd wordt. Deze stijl was toen nog onbekend buiten Argentinië (v.a. 1990 noemde Susana Miller hem Estilo Milonguero t.o. de toeristen in haar salon om het begrip in te korten).

In 1996 beginnen de internationale uitnodigingen binnen te komen, de sociale vorm van tango in de "close embrace" uit te dragen, eerst in Europa en v.a. 1999 in de VS, Canada, Brazilië, Argentinië. Na Brigitta Winkler is Yvonne Meissner de tweede niet-Argentijnse vrouwelijke danser die voor tournees in de VS werd uitgenodigd. V.a. 1999 werkt zij met haar levenspartner Eduardo Aguirre die in april 2010 plotseling van ons ging. Sindsdien continueerde Yvonne haar workshops in Europa en in festivals in de VS in 2011 en 2012. Zij werkte met belangrijke leraren in de sociale tangodans zoals Rubén Terbalca, Pocho Pizarro, Susana Miller, Cacho Dante, Daniel Trenner, Ricardo Maceiras (El Pibe Sarandì), Ana Maria Schapira, Eduardo Aguirre, Luis Rojas, Jorge Firpo, Fernando Serrano, El Pibe Avellaneda naast haar eigen internationale curriculum.

De lesmethode van Yvonne legt veel nadruk op het gebruik van de torso en de daarmee gepaard gaande torsie, gebruik van de heup, synchronisatie van de beweging en de interactie van leiden en volgen in het paar om een gesprek tussen twee lichamen te bewerkstelligen. Voor Yvonne betekent tango een manier van tedere communicatie in het algemeen en uit zich door een besliste, elegante manier van lopen alsmede de gewaarwording van je fysieke presentie in de ruimte om je heen. Deze communicatieve aspecten zijn de spil van haar les-filosofie, op de basis van Contactimprovisatie, aangevuld met rationele analyse en uitleg met behulp van de moderne dans-technieken en lichaamswerk, waardoor de oorsprong van een beweging en consecutief het gevolg voor de partner helder als een sculptuur wordt. Sublimatie van deze fysieke communicatie leidt tot bewegen als "een hart met vier voeten", zoals haar leraar Cacho Dante eens zei…

In Yvonne's lesdidaktiek kunnen bewegingsschema's deel uitmaken van figuren maar het cognitieve aanleren van figuren is niet doel van het haar lesmethode. De muziek met zijn verschillende ritmes en stiltes wordt in Argentinië "el compas" genoemd en is de meest essentiele inspiratie om met dans een sculptuur in de ruimte neer te zetten. Ritme en pauzes, draaien en plotselinge staccati betekenen een uitdaging binnen het paar. Yvonne werd in festivals bekend door haar ritmische decoraties en voetenwerk, die zij bij de oude danseressen (milongueras) in Buenos Aires in de 90-er jaren mocht gadeslaan, aangevuld door de ritmische Canyengue-elementen die vruchtbare aarde zijn voor het communicatieve spel in het paar. Als je Yvonne ziet dansen besef je dat de dame, beschikt over grote vrijheid in haar rol als follower. Yvonne’s stijl definieert de rol van follower in tango opnieuw.
